Below is a mood board of the artist Rembrandt Van Rijn. He was a Dutch painter and etcher, born in 1606 and was generally considered one of the greatest painters in European art and Dutch history.
What I particularly like about his work is not only the skill and beauty of his portraits, but the cheekiness of a lot of his work, mostly the ones below in the mood board. I also really admire his visual style of painting and it's a style that appeals to me which I try to convey in my own paintings.
I plan on doing a photo study of one of his paintings in both a traditional and digital medium, to help create a better understanding of how he works as well as how I work compared to traditional and digital.
